  9. Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenged.
    Project Work provides a learning experience in which students have the opportunity to synthesise knowledge from various areas of learning, and apply it critically and creatively to real-life situations.So a project work should be a well planned concept .
    So for any project activity , a teacher should design a Plan for the Project,Create a Schedule, Monitor the Students and the Progress of the Project.Later when the project has been carried on,a teacher should assess the Outcome and evaluate the Experience.

    - to study sound waves with a spoon using just yarn and a metal spoon. Students can write down their understanding about vibrations, as a group
    - collecting different types of leaves, to learn about their different parts.
    - to study about the different parts of a flower. Each group can bring their own flower
    - to learn about simple machines by using every day tools that we find at home such as scissors, tongs, screwdriver, etc. Children can bring those tools to school and as a group can demonstrate how such machines work.

    [1] Students learn about a subject by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to a complex question, challenge, or problem.

    [2] It is a style of active learning and inquiry-based learning. PBL contrasts with paper-based, rote memorization, or teacher-led instruction that presents established facts or portrays a smooth path to knowledge by instead posing questions, problems or scenarios.

    KEY POINTS:
    Project-based learning is a pedagogical strategy in which students produce a product related to a topic.
    The teacher sets the goals for the learner, and then allows the learner to explore the topic and create their project.
    The teacher is a facilitator in this student-centered approach and provides scaffolding and guidance when necessary.
    Proponents of project-based learning cite numerous benefits of these strategies including a greater depth of understanding of concepts, broader knowledge base, improved communication and interpersonal/social skills, enhanced leadership skills, increased creativity, and improved writing skills.
    When students use technology as a tool to communicate with others, they take on an active role vs. a passive role of transmitting the information by a teacher, a book, or broadcast. The student is constantly making choices on how to obtain, display, or manipulate information.

    DEFINITION
    Project-based learning: Students independently gather resources and information to create a project and/or product.

    Project-based learning, is a pedagogical method in which students are directed to create an artifact (or artifacts) to present their gained knowledge. Artifacts may include a variety of media such as writings, art, drawings, three-dimensional representations, videos, photography, or technology-based presentations. The basis of PBL lies in the authenticity or real-life application of the research and is considered an alternative to paper-based, rote memorization, teacher-led classrooms.   95. The concept for project based activity that I am going to assign to my students will be about recycling. I will inform my students to ask, enquiry about recycling to recycling experts and do a little research on how recycling is done. And then arrange for an interview with a popular recycling organisation. And I will also instruct each of the students to come up with interesting questions to be ask for interview. And at last I will inform all the students to compile the data and record it in a sheet of paper. After the project is done every student should write a paragraph about their research. They should also paste photos about recycling. And then present the paragraph about the recycling research in front of the class.
    When the projects gets complete, the students will not only become experts on the topic of recycling,they will also be engaged, actively participate and learn how to research for a particular topic and how to interact in a better way with one another in groups, and they will also learn how utilise problem solving strategies when disagreements arose.
