In the context of environmental studies disciplinary integration is an important component of problem analysis.skillfull integration requires and understanding of abstract concepts and hands on experience with integrative processes. This provide a necessary experience in integrative thinking and provide opportunities for building professional skills in integration

Example ecological sciences ,confronting common and diverse epistemologies and ontologists across social and biophysical fields provides a means for understanding difference s and building links among disperate disciplines.

  112. It is true that Environmental Studies or EVS is an integrated discipline. As the name itself suggest, we cannot survive without the environment. Now, the environment suggested here is not just the natural environment but the small surroundings we live in like our homes, families, neighbours, food, water, cultural elements, religion, institutions and so on with which we cannot do away with for if we are to stay alive. Therefore, we can see that it is integrated in every aspects of what we are and who we are as humans. For example: We all need friends be it in school or at home. Our immediate friends at home are our neighbours which we cannot live without so to say. As an individual or society we are here to celebrate the gift of life. In times of joy we laugh together and in times of sorrow we cry together and lend our shoulder and hands in such time. So EVS is very much an integrated discipline.
