Children should be allowed to study in their own pace and abilities. They should also be taught what they have learned in their daily life. Further, we as teachers should allow students to do things which are not included in the syllabus, if they are for improvement of the children overall development.

DeleteEvery child is different therefore we teachers should learn to accept individual differences.We should not compare neither expect too much .Give the child the liberty to learn at his own pace .We should recognise the talent and the capability of a child.Always to appreciate the effort given by every child neither to discourage or lower the confidence of a child .We should embrace a child the way he is and let him bloom with all our support no matter what and learn to accept their flaws.
DeleteIt reminded me not to compare my kids to others, or even to each other, that they would learn at their own pace and in their own way. It helped me to relax and enjoy the differences I saw. Some of my most cherished memories are from watching my kids develop

I can't deny the fact we have students with special needs and I experienced is not an easy task to deal with but as we get to know each other, their parents, their background, every thing changed though sometimes it turned to negative but at the end of the day it makes me reflect of what has happened and I realized each and every individual teach me a lesson how to understand and respect each and every child as each one of us are unique and different in our own way

For addressing diversity in our school we must provide equal opportunity to all children (i.e. Children from socially, economically backward groups, children with special needs etc) in the learning process.

Each and every children came from differents family background and each student have their own ability and have their own capability and capacity.The students shows their own uniqueness in their own interest and own dreams.So We as the teachers much show them love an affection and must be patience and listen or observe to their own kinds of interest and try our best to shave and mould them .Try to show them the best path for their future.Try to make them think out side the box that is even out side the syllabus.And we as the teachers we must not forget we are the role models and we are the one who shave and mould them not only for educational values but for moral and social values.

As the story goes, if we judge the duck by its ability to fly and climb trees until it's webbed limbs crippled then it's not the students who failed. It's the teacher and the educational system that failed the students.

ReplyDeleteFrom the Fable"The Animal School " I learnt that each and every students had their own strengths and weaknesses. So as a teacher we should keep a close watch to each students so that we can brings a balance in the classroom,the so we called Inclusive classroom.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all as teachers we should not judge the students for their ability to perform ,we should instead encourage them to do anything they are good at. We should advice and teach them to always aim and practice in the weak subjects but specialized in what they're good at.

Like the eel, many kids adapt well to school, tests, and expectations, and flourish. If our child is not an eel, they are no less important, nor are they failures. (Or their teacher!) They have unique strengths and gifts that aren’t always showcased by mainstream subjects and environments

From the fable I could point out some action points: students are diverse in understanding, learning and skill. 2 One student cannot be perfect in all the curriculum. 3 So they must be given a choice to participate in what they were worth for it. For example ducks are expert in swimming so they must be given choice to participate in what they want. 4 And the curricular activity must be made so that all students can participate for example prairie dog end up fighting with the administration for not giving digging and burrowing in the curriculum

ReplyDeleteThe fable reminds us that every student is different from one another and that they have their own abilities to learn from their own experiences.That is why the teachers need to understand the learning process of the students and encourage them in a way so that they will be able to learn and enjoy the activities provided to them.

By going through the fable I understand that each students is gifted with different telent and we as teacher help and build them according to their strength and capability.

We as a teacher should bring out their strength and encourage them. But as a teacher we should motivate them to be good in all the subjects as students should be developed in every aspect of life.

ReplyDelete- Identify students with different abilities.
- Plan lessons to cater students having different abilities.
- Plan activities to suit mixed abilities in the classroom.
- Group students(for activities) according to abilities.
Every individual is unique so are the students. We must learnt to accept the individual differences. Every students is different. They have a different talents. We must always encourage them be themselves and respect them. We should appreciate their efforts. From the fable I leart that as a teacher I need to identify students with different abilities and deal with them individually.
ReplyDeleteFor addressing diversity in our classroom we need to have a knowledge of individual differences where no two individuals are alike , each child have their own ablity, capacity, interest , likes and dislikes .
ReplyDeleteTherefore as teachers we need to identify and recognize each individual's ability,capacity, interest so as to help them to go and develop their innate abilities and encourage them in their weak points or areas.
We cannot impose everything to a child without knowing their strength and weakness.
Therefore in order to help the child to grow as an individual we need to adopt different methods and style of teaching to meet the needs of the child.
Every child is different, as teachers we should accept individuals differences, embrace them and support them.

We should not compare them with each other nor should we put pressure on them to work harder. We should let them learn at their pace and this they will soon start enjoying the learning process and do better than what we had expected. We just need to immensely support them throughout.

ReplyDelete1. The curriculum should be flexible in such away that different types of students should be able to learn in the same classroom. Moreover, it should provide space for students to learn as per their talent and interest.
2. The teacher should not force the students to learn what ever they are not expected to learn otherwise they will be like a duck and rabbit.
3. The teacher should recognise the capacity and interest of the students.
Following are the required action points according to what I can absorb from the animal fable:

Every child is different so as teachers we should not compare them. Instead we should allow them to express their own ideas and interests. As teachers we should always be there to encourage and help them. We should always try to adapt their learning styles in our teaching and learning activities.

The fable in fact, had been amazingly highlighted as to make us aware on how to create diversity in our classroom by accepting each students' capacity and ability to perform their duties. ReplyDeleteThe school curriculum should be inclusive. The classroom should be an inclusive classroom. That means each student should be allowed to learn at their own pace and no coercive method should be used. Remedial teaching should be provided in the area /subject where the students are lagging behind.

Lastly, all students should accept each other in their own capabilities in and outside the classrooms, without bullying each other.

ReplyDeleteIn a classroom, there are students with varying abilities and challenges. In order to address individual (student) academic needs, regardless of students abilities and challenges the teaching learning process must be flexible and education should be inclusive. In inclusive classroom, the teacher accept, understand and attend the students differences and diversity. These differences and diversity include physical, cognitive, academic, social and emotional. In such classroom, the driving principle is to make all students feel welcome, appropriately challenged and supported in their efforts. Adopting this principle will transform the teaching learning process into a more meaningful one.
